With a new pup around, Wes and Barn are settling in like pros but there are rare times when they wish the old order held fast. You can tell when Wes takes over the puppies bed-just because he can.
Or when Barn holds my arm to make sure I don’t get up anymore to throw the ball for a dog that isn’t him.

I am continually amazed at how flexible their hearts are, how they can bend and fold around each other, and then, how their hearts can bend and fold around me. I learn from these boys (and even our cat who is actually, probably, even more flexible than the dogs), everyday: Life is about EVERY moment. The moments climbing Bernal, the moments being scared at meeting someone new, the moments eating awesome french fries and then licking our lips clean. Order becomes less important and being together becomes more and more crucial. They may have liked the old order, but the new one means a new dog bed to lay on, and extra hand holds…
The times, they have changed, and I am grateful for every moment because they all seem like their own version of love.
