Sharing Your Bed With Your Dog Is Amazing: Here’s Why

If you’re a true animal lover, you may have no issue with letting your dog cozy up in bed with you. With conflicting information about whether it’s good for your dog to even sleep in the same bed, it’s hard to determine if it’s even a healthy habit. Here are some reasons why it’s okay to let your pup jump on in bed with you tonight.

Dogs Are Great For Depression. Depression is such a battle to deal with. Having the presence of your dog is essential for ridding yourself of the depression and loneliness feelings. Having your dog curl right up to you will surely kick your depressing mood to the curb.

Ease Your Anxiety. You’ve probably heard the saying before that dogs can relieve anxiety in humans. In fact, there are even service dogs for people who have a severe anxiety disorder. When you’re laying in bed at night with your dog, you will be able to feel more relaxed and will provide you with a good night sleep.

“…you will be able to feel more relaxed and will provide you with a good night sleep.”

You Will Feel More Safe. Some people don’t feel safe at night. It’s dark outside and you may keep thinking of the possibilities of what could go wrong. Thankfully, cuddling with your furry best friend will put your mind at ease. Not to mention, if anything was going to happen you would be woken up by a bark. Your dog will not only comfort you but protect you as well.

Beat Insomnia and Finally Get Some Rest. Let your dog out of the kennel and let them jump in bed with you. Why? Dogs have a calming effect on humans. They provide a sense of safety, warmth, and rhythmic breathing that can allow you to fall asleep easier.

It Provides Benefits For Your Dog, Too. Yup, it’s not all about comforting you (although dogs are good at that.) – Letting your dog sleep in bed with you at night can provide them with feeling safe. They will also feel more part of the family and give them a sense of belonging.
